I used to think I was praying wrong.

I’d close my eyes, say the words, and wait. And mostly… nothing. No lightning. No booming voice. Just me, the quiet, and this small ache wondering if He even heard me — or if I was doing the whole thing wrong.

For a long time I figured everyone else had some secret I’d missed. They’d talk about “hearing from God” so casually, and I’d nod along while quietly thinking, what does that even feel like?

It turned out He’d been speaking the whole time. I just didn’t know what to listen for.

He wasn’t silent. I just didn’t recognize His voice.

Once I stopped waiting for it to sound like a movie, I started noticing it everywhere.

Sometimes it was that gentle thought that pulled me toward peace when everything in me wanted to panic — the kind that’s too kind to be my own.

Sometimes it was almost like hearing — a moment so clear I couldn’t explain it away, and didn’t want to.

And so many times it was a single line of Scripture that found me on the exact day I needed it, like it had been written for that morning.

None of those are louder or holier than the others. They were just His. And once I knew that, I stopped feeling behind.

That’s why I made Closer.

I didn’t want anyone else to spend years feeling like they were on the outside of their own faith. Closer is the thing I wish someone had handed me back then — a simple, fifteen-minute-a-day way to quiet the noise, figure out how He tends to reach you, and actually walk with Him instead of wondering if you’re doing it right.

You’re not behind. You never were. He’s closer than you think — and I’d love to help you hear Him.
